What.....no link to Apple Computer®.....what is this cat doing instead of the link????? Well....for all of you who love animals....I am one of them....and like all good sites.....you have to have the "Pet Picture"

The bonus here is the story behind this cheap looking alley cat named Apple. Below is his background. My cat Apple, was born in Mexico City, Mexico.....

back sometime around April of 1984 at the head of my bed(on the floor of course). His Mom....was Morris, an all black-semi-long hair cat from Veracruz, Veracruz. She had only one kitten in this batch. At the time I was working as a flight attendant for Mexicana Airlines based in Mexico City. A few days after Apple was born....I was pecking away at the keyboard of the Apple II E....one of Apple's first computers on the market. It so happens that I learned to "SAVE" my work....after trying to figure out how to do it for some time. I was so happy about the advance in my knowledge of computers(big whoppee) that I ran into the bedroom, and decided to call my new kitten "Apple". And so....14 years later, and having lived with Apple in Mexico City....then Dusseldorf, Germany for two and half years, Los Angeles, same....2 1/2 years....

and finally Austin,Texas, since 1990. The cat is still with me.....a bit more on the lumpy side....as in fat.....but a great cat to have. The only thing that I have ever fed this cat is Friskies®-Ocean Flavor (except in Germany, which was similiar product called Briskies®) and water. Never milk....fish, fancy foods or table food. Hence the cat is as perfect as you would like to have a cat. The two documents are issued by vets in Mexico City, Germany and Los Angeles. Some of the highlights of Apple's way of being are the following.

- He does not beg for food when humans are eating. - Does not climb on furniture....counters, table tops. - He does not destroy furniture with his claws. - He comes when you call him by his name....and not by Kitty kitty....or spssssh. - He does not do bathroom things in the house....he waits to go out. - Plays foil ball. It's a game played by two adults or kids with Apple between them. You then take aluminuim foil, roll it into a ball....and pitch it back and forth between the two humans. If Apple blocks with his paw the ball, 3 times....that person looses. It's hard to believe this....and when people try it....they usually loose....simply because they don't think the cat is fast enough or smart enough.(not much of this anymore) - Is a loving cat....but does not let strangers come close. I taught him this....because his dear mother who also went to Germany, one day disappeared.....and never came back. So I figured the least I could do was to train Apple to hiss, and scratch at anyone trying to touch him. He does eventually warm up to you....but in small steps. - And finally...he is a great companion and grounding force in my life. Whenever things look a little on the stress side....all I need to do is look at Apple, and realize things are not as bad as they seem to be. As I write this page....he is sitting peacefully next to my chair. What a great cat.......he's terrific.....Carlos Austin proud owner of this little feline called Apple.
